Out with the old and in with the new

Well on Monday we all said goodbye to Effie. Effie, if you remember was daddy’s old Jupiter CC Tuba that was sold to a band here in Auckland. I heard daddy have one little play on her just before a couple of people came to pick her up. So, instead of two large cases in the workshop, we now again have only one. We know that Effie will be well looked after and will continue playing beautiful sounds in West Auckland. Bye bye Effie and welcome Anton. Since Anton has moved in, our daddy has been playing her everyday and she sounds better and better. This might also be because daddy too is getting better and better.

The tuba isn’t the only noisy thing in the house. All week daddy has been coughing and coughing. This keeps Alfa, me and mummy awake. It must be frustrating for daddy, but he has lots of medicine to help him get better. This week I have been sleeping on his lap at night time when he watches TV. This is to help keep him warm of course. I love my daddy. He is so cool !

The tuba wasn’t the only thing that found a new home this week. A Yamaha flute found a new home this week as well as a Selmer MKVI Alto Sax that will live in Australia. A very lucky boy is getting it for his birthday present. Wow….how lucky is that?!? Apart from the instruments, there have been many accessories sold which has kept mummy very busy.

Speaking of mummy….it is Mother’s Day here in NZ. Mummy got breakfast in bed and was taken out for lunch. Unfortunately, cats are not welcome in restaurants. This was a little sad for Alfa and I. Daddy gets all the fun. Mummy and daddy spent the whole day together out and about while Alfa and I looked after DR TOOT. We looked after everything and are now looking forward to a quiet warm night at home. I better go now and warm up daddy’s blanket. What would he do without me??
