It’s so hot here at DR TOOT’s

I know it’s summer, but I really don’t like all this heat. My beautiful black and white fur coat is just too warm for me. Sometimes, I go outside and sleep under a tree, but I look at Alfa stuck inside, and I feel I should be with her. Nowadays, she is spending more time outside. She explores things and gets very excited when a bird hops on the grass or when she sees ants on the path. Last night mummy and daddy had dinner outside and Alfa was very quick to pick up the food that daddy dropped on the ground. I guess it’s her way of hunting…J. Anyways, enough about Alfa.

Mummy and daddy have been interviewing someone to help assist in the repair shop. Two different people applied and we have picked one of them. She is from Japan, just like mummy and played the French horn at school. After a short interview, she worked in the shop, taking apart a flute and clarinet. Daddy seemed happy with her work and she will move in with us next Sunday. We have more repairs then ever coming in, so she and daddy will be very, very busy. Mummy too will be very busy because there will be more paperwork to do and things to organise around the house.

Two instruments have found new homes this week. A past member of the NZSO, and current member of the Rodger Fox Big Band, has bought a beautiful Yamaha YFL311 II flute. I know that he will love it as I know daddy puts a lot of love into his work. A Yamaha Intermediate trumpet also has a new home and it went to a really nice boy who goes to Auckland Grammar. His trumpet teacher plays for the APO, so we know it is in great hands. Reeds and many other accessories too have found new homes all around New Zealand. A pre-loved Yamaha YAS275 Alto Sax has arrived and is ready for sale. Soon a couple of Yamaha YAS32 Alto Saxophones will arrive here from Japan. It’s all GO at the House of Toot!!!

Oh dear….Alfa is outside again. I better do my duty and keep an eye on her. She is and will always be too young to look after herself outdoors. She is just a kid. At least now we don’t have to sleep in the same bed. Mummy got a cool looking smaller bed that only sleeps one. Sorry Alfa, but it’s my bed. I deserve that right!!!!
