Things Happen when I’m in charge….

Good afternoon, my fellow subjects. Yes, it’s that time again when your favourite cat speaks to the world about life, values and once again looking after the affairs at DR TOOT. I hate sounding like a stuck record, but when I’m around, things really do happen. I must first start off by saying that the first sale of the week, partially belongs to Alfa. Because I am such an amazing and humble cat, I have agreed to share this one. On Sunday evening, when it is still really Alfa’s turn, a customer in Gisborne purchased a Yamaha SE Clarinet. The customer was naturally unaware that Alfa was still in charge and by accident did the purchase on Sunday evening. On behalf of Alfa and the amazing Team at DR TOOT, I humbly thank you ! 😺

Monday as usual started with a hiss and a roar. The team was in full swing catching on the balance of repairs that had to be completed by the end of the week and ready for the beginning of Term 3. Taka was busy on saxophones, while daddy, Jordan and Mio were busy on clarinets, flutes and a wide assortment of brass instruments. As well as me supervising the repair side of things, I managed to sell a Briccialdi flute that found a new home in Wanaka, a pre-loved Marcato flute, locally and a pre-loved Yamaha 311 flute to a customer in New Plymouth. For me you could say it was a very Tooty Flutey Day!!!!

As you can imagine, I was very tired on Tuesday but made sure everybody was working hard in the repair shop. Keep working I told everybody before I went down for a well, earned snooze. On Wednesday a Japanese lady came in and tried one of our pre-loved Yamaha 450 Clarinets. She travelled overseas…(well, from Birkenhead) to our shop test it out and absolutely loved it and bought it. I believe that she heard that I was on duty this week and knew that she would be looked after. 😼

On Thursday a lady came in with her daughter and fell in love with a pre-loved Jupiter Trumpet. The daughter thought I was very beautiful, which I am of course and gave me a few strokes…purr….purr. On Thursday too we received from Japan a beautiful Yamaha 380 Tenor sax by a special order. Mio got stuck in on it and serviced it that day. Even though the saxophone was in mint condition, it is important to make sure everything in clean and working well. Friday morning, it went to a new home…WOW!!

By this stage I was feeling proud with myself. Saturday morning, a young man and his mother visited us. He was borrowing a trumpet and really wanted his own. Daddy showed him our B.A.C. Apprentice Trumpet of which we only had one left. More B.A.C Trumpets and Trombones will be arriving next month. Watch this space. He played it and loved it and shortly after bought it. Daddy had Howick Brass Band rehearsal in the afternoon and while he was gone another Yamaha 450 Clarinet and new BACKUN Alpha Clarinet were sold online. You can always buy online any of our lovely instruments and accessories 😊

Wow, this is a long blog compared with Alfa’s mini ones. I had a lot to say and well Alfa…um, had little to say last week. Oh well……..maybe this coming week……maybe…
