An interesting and funny week

Interesting, because we had many interesting people come in to my place, and funny, because of a funny thing that happened to Rico.

This week has been busy with instruments coming from all around and as south as Gore to DR TOOT.  Trumpets, saxophones, flutes, clarinets, you name it, it’s come here.  This has kept my daddy and mummy very busy.  Last week daddy was cleaning his tools and cleaning up his workshop.  Now the workshop and tools are in full action.  I love work…I love watching daddy works J

Funny…because I have seen feijoas landing on Rico’s head and he was yelling that the sky was falling.  Oh dear, it’s good that he has an older sister like me…but I’m not really old ;-)  It’s that time again that Rico and I snuggle up at the end of mummy and daddy’s bed.  The sun pouring in on a cool afternoon on the bed is heaven for Rico and I.  The two of us really get alone, but we don’t want mummy and daddy think so sometimes….it’s our secret.

Daddy makes such a fuss sometimes.  This week a shipment arrived from Japan.  In that shipment was an A clarinet made by Yamaha.  This wasn’t any old clarinet, but a Custom CSV A clarinet in a beautiful double case.  Daddy went crazy over it but to me it just looks like any ordinary clarinet.  I guess daddy knows what he is talking about…but he does go on about it.

Mummy and daddy left me in charge as usual to look after Rico last night,  because they were going out to a Jazz concert in a pub in Devonport.  Mummy and daddy’s friend and customer, Drew with his band, ROUNDhouse, were performing there on his Selmer MKVl alto sax that he recently bought from DR TOOT.  They said wowwwwwwww, what a sound !!!  Daddy spent many hours doing the corks and pads.  The old girl (not me J ) had an amazing sound, so they said.  Mummy and daddy were so happy that the saxophone had a good home.

Daddy had a lovely review from a customer that mentioned how happy he was with the work that he did on the customer’s tenor sax.  The customer mentioned this on TradeMe.  This gave daddy and mummy warm fuzzies.

When mummy and daddy have late nights, it means late nights for Rico and I.  So, good night, my fellow subjects and talk to you in two weeks time.  You have…..Rico next week…I’m sorry J
