Before I get into the low sounds in Howick, I would first
of all like to thank Alfa for letting her share the blog with me last week. In
the good old days it was Rico and I….with Rico’s passing, we got Alfa. Enough
said. Rico, when alive, had some issues as some cats have, (not me), but Alfa
is an issue all on her own. I’m sorry if I go on about this, but it does
trouble me. I must look forward and not back…
This week was a short week because of Anzac Day. This the
day that New Zealanders and Australians remember the solders that died in
battle during WW1 in Europe. Even though it was a day of rest and thought,
Mummy and Daddy were working very hard getting repairs done. Alfa and I were
wondering why they didn’t relax that day. The reason was clear when we didn’t see
daddy at all on Friday. In the wee hours on Friday morning, Daddy drove off to
Auckland International Airport and caught a flight to Sydney. Mummy held the
fort and was working hard while Daddy was away.
As some of you know, Daddy has been on the lookout for a
profession CC Tuba. He knew that there was one in Sydney and so off he went to
check it out. After a 3 and a half hour flight and a train trip, he met Steve
Rosse. Steve is the tuba player of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Tuba
Instructor at the Sydney Conservatorium and owner of Tubamania. He had a new Miraphone
CC Bruckner Tuba for sale. Daddy loved it and decided to have it. So back on
the plane with tuba and arrived back here in New Zealand at about midnight on
the same day. My daddy can be a bit crazy sometimes. This was one of those
times!! So now we hear the low slow sounds of Daddy and his new tuba……Alfa and
I are not too happy about all this sound…..and mummy went shopping…lol
While daddy was away, mummy kept things going. A Yamaha
semi professional trumpet was sold as well as an intermediate Yamaha cornet. Accessories also sold as well as many repairs
came in. Next week is the last week of the school holidays, so everything must
get done before the end of the week. Keep it going Daddy……Mummy’s turn next we
think.
Daddy has finally stopped playing, so I will try and get
some more sleep time. Honestly, it’s really loud! Good night from Alfa and the most beautiful Queen Zara J
