DR TOOT's Concert...only 6 more sleeps away !

It’s been a beautiful week this week in Auckland. It’s winter here, but very warm and I have been able to improve my lovely tan….such as a cat can get a tan. The life of a cat is to sleep, eat, stay warm,….do the business and sleep some more. Daddy says that I am always sleeping, but when I sleep, I think of great things to help mummy and daddy in business. It takes a lot of energy to greet people and welcome  them to DR TOOT. It’s a tough life, but I never complain and always up to my duty.

Some cool instruments arrived this week at DR TOOT. An amazing Yamaha alto sax YAS 62, latest model looking almost new and a Yamaha YCL251 clarinet. Early in the week, daddy was asked by a lady if we had and student clarinets in stock. Luckily for her, daddy told her that one was due any day and sure enough it arrived on Thursday.   She came on Saturday afternoon and left with a clarinet for herself and a trumpet for her daddy. Me thinks that much music will come from that house this weekend ! J

Speaking of sounds and things. Alfa and I were very scared of the sounds coming mummies office on Friday evening and Saturday morning. A very large box arrived here on Friday evening . In that box was a lot of timber and bits and pieces. Daddy opened the box and started putting all those bits and pieces together to build a double door storage area This is because, mummy has many things and needed the space to store things. Alfa thought this was going to be a new house for her. Again in life….she is wrong. Oh well. It looks pretty good, but I can see that the doors don’t line up and it’s not straight. Daddy says that his brother will arrive here from Canada later this year and that he can fix it. I personally think it’s fine, but you know….my daddy can do no wrong.

It’s now less than a week till DR TOOT’S concert will be held at the Uxbridge Crative Centre. Many of daddy’s students will be performing there with George Bonner playing piano and also performing his alto sax. There is a surprise too. The Auckland Brass Consort too will be performing.  They are a brass quintet and daddy is a member of it. I wish I could go, but Alfa and I are again not allowed to…..BOTHER!!!!

It’s time to go now and rest. It’s been a busy day and week. This week is the last week of school before the school holidays. Remember to bring your instruments in and say hello. Hope you can all go to the concert and enjoy. Bye for now my fellow humianodes J
