Where is my Daddy….

Daddy has been away so much. As Alfa mentioned, mummy and daddy were away to Queenstown last weekend and arrived back on Sunday afternoon. Not long after they arrived, daddy was off to Auckland University for a rehearsal with the Auckland Brass Consort and minutes later rehearsing with the University of Auckland playing tuba for Shostakovich Symphony 9. Monday night rehearsals with the University and Tuesday night with the Brass quintet. Daddy was home on Wednesday night, then out on Thursday night with the university and Friday night with the brass quintet. On Saturday afternoon he was playing with the Manukau Symphony Orchestra. Wow….so busy and not giving me the attention I deserve…..this soon will end.

Daddy had his concert today and many came to them. I am happy now. Many people turned up and all is good. Daddy said he played well so I have to believe. A couple of concerts are coming up in the next few weeks, so we are not out of the woods yet…

School holidays have started and repairs are starting to come in as well as sales. Yesterday a gentleman and his daughter came to us from Stanmore Bay and bought a Yamaha YTR 4335 GS Trumpet. She played so beautifully and I know it has gone to a good home. Other phone calls came in regarding other instruments, but nothing finalized yet. Watch this space. I am sure Alfa will have more news for you later. Talking about news… We have…I can’t say just yet, but Alfa will share the news next week with you. I really want to say, but it’s Alfa’s turn and she deserves to share this with you, so mum’s the word.

Last bit of news…As you may know, New Zealand and America have been doing battle over a boat race called “The America’s Cup”.  This is a boat race of enormous scare and finished late this week. The Americans won and New Zealand felt sad, but we were very proud on how well our team did. I think that if they had me on board, then I could have been their lucky charm. Maybe next time boys!!! Alfa and I are so proud of you!!!
