Safe travel home, Fumi…

Good afternoon to all my loyal subjects far and wide. Yes it’s me Zara telling you the news as it really is. It’s been a busy week of repairs, sales, and more tools. Daddy finished off two major saxophone repairs. One was a Buescher Tenor sax and the other was a Boosey alto sax. Both saxophones needed major repairing and complete overhauling. New corks, pads and new rods were needed and now both look and sound fantastic. It’s been a long time working on these, but they are finally done. As well as these two, there were many other flutes, clarinets and an assortment of brass wind repairs. As you see….it’s been a busy week in the DR TOOT repair shop.

It’s not only repairs that have kept mummy and daddy busy. On Monday a Yamaha Custom trumpet has found a new home. This trumpet went to a student of one of daddy’s friends who teaches trumpet and many other instruments. Then, another trumpet found a new home in Tirau. On Saturday, we received a call from Christchurch from a man who wanted to get a great saxophone for his son, and he choose the Yamaha YAS62 Alto Sax with G1 neck. Very lucky boy. Then today, a friend of daddy’s from long long ago, bought a Flugel Horn that just arrived a few days ago. When Zara is on duty, DR TOOT Rocks!!!

That’s right. More instruments arrived at DR TOOT. A Jupiter Flugel Horn, and a Yamaha silver plated 4 valved Euphonium. A Euphonium is like a baby tuba. It’s part of the tuba family but as daddy says….the tuba is best J Many accessories too have arrived. Now for something completely different…. If you are friends of daddy on Facebook or friends of DR TOOT, you would have noticed a newspaper clipping of daddy and the police. No!!! Daddy wasn’t being a bad boy. Daddy helped the police retrieve a stolen tenor sax from a bad robber and returned it to the rightful owner. The story is too long to tell, but if you are interested, please go on our facebook and have a look… Alfa and I are so proud of our daddy. As daddy’s PA, I had a lot of work taking questions about daddy. That’s my job J

Time to purr out. Before I go I want to wish Fumi a great trip back home. As you may remember, Fumi worked for us over the summer holidays and has been working in the South Island. She leaves back for Japan tomorrow morning, and on Friday, she came to say goodbye to me and the family. We will miss her and we wish her a safe return to her family. I asked her if she wanted to take Alfa with her. Of course she said….NO!!!! Oh well…..more special time ahead with Alfa…. J
