A week has gone so quickly…my little brain tries to catch up
what happened at DR TOOT J
It was supposed to be shower/raining in Auckland today, but it turned a quite
nice day. So, I was outside with mummy and Zara. It’ really nice to see the
blue sky and lots of flowers….and birds J
A few instruments have arrived from Japan. Most of them are
a special order from one of schools in Auckland. The school has purchased some pre-loved
instruments from DR TOOT and they ordered some more !
This week two instruments have found new homes – one of
Yamaha flutes has found a new owner in Hawera through TradeMe. She could
receive it the next day. She was happy with the flute and has left a very kind
feedback on TradeMe J
Another instrument was one of Yamaha alto saxophones. The saxophone has gone to
a new home in Auckland. Son and his father came to see daddy, DR TOOT to
upgrade his saxophone. He tried a YAS34ll and loved it…then left with the
saxophone – Good luck with the exam Grade 7 !
Daddy was practicing a tuba last few nights and had a rehearsal
with MSO (Manukau Synphony Orchestra). Today, they had a concert. The main
piece was Tane and the Kiwi. This was written by a New Zealander tell the story
about the kiwi and featured many instruments including the tuba. The Tuba, Bass
Clarinet and Contra Bassoon, represented Tane, the Lord of the Forest. This meant that daddy had many tuba solo
parts. I was very proud of him, even though I didn’t hear him perform.
Tomorrow morning, daddy will go to airport to pick up a new
staff member from Japan. She is a 20 year old and graduated a musical
instrument school in Tokyo. Her name is Shoko and studied how to repair brass
and woodwind instruments like daddy did a looooooong time ago ! We are really
looking forward to seeing her tomorrow. She will be an assistant of daddy and
going to stay with us for a while….that was daddy told me and Zara. It will be
four girls in a house…..lucky daddy J
