Ladies and
gentlemen, boys and girls. Zara here. It’s been a pretty crazy week here at DR TOOT’s.
As you know, daddy (DR TOOT), has been
working on a lovely 1939 Selmer Balance Action alto sax for a very special
musician in Wellington .
This person is leaving soon with the Wellington Jazz Orchestra to America and recording with Capital Records in
L.A. Earlier this week, daddy finished the fine tuning on this instrument and
flew down to Wellington
on Saturday and personally presented him with his sax. With a little fine tuning on it, he was 100%
happy.
After a
lovely spicy brunch he left daddy in Wellington
central so that daddy could relax and look around beautiful Wellington
before flying back up to Auckland
at just after 6. In the after noon daddy
caught up with a few musicians at a pub and had a great time. When daddy finally got to the airport, he
realises that the flight back to Auckland
(our home), was cancelled due to windy weather. Daddy stayed the night and
arrived back to us on Sunday afternoon……so happy to see my daddy….meow meow.
Other
news…well let’s see. The Gonzalez reeds have finally left Argentina to NZ, A shipment of saxophones
including the YTS61S has left Japan
and a Miyazawa solid silver flute, that we had in stock, has found a home with a
lovely girl here in Auckland .
Mummy is
still working very hard on our website. It should be finished soon and there will be
pictures of daddy, mummy…her (Alfa) and me on the website. You should see what
amazing title I have. I can’t tell you.
You will have to wait.
Ta ta for
now and all have a wonderful week. Remember that this week coming is the last
week before the school holidays. If your instruments need attention…and you
know they do, get them in quickly to DR TOOT
and in no time at all, they will be back and in perfect order J
