So Tidy and so Organised πŸ™Œ

Yes, I am so tidy and so organised, but this time I am talking about the shop. Daddy and the team apart from repairing, have been organising the shop and streamlining systems.

This week we had Taka, Jordan and Daddy only in the shop. This is because Masaru has gone back to Japan to live. I miss him very much as he let me sleep on his lap many times and was always very kind to me. The main reason for the change of tools and things in the shop is because we have a new member to our TOOT TEAM. Her name is Mio and she arrive in from Japan yesterday morning. She is a qualified Brass and Woodwind technician, who really enjoys working on woodwind instruments. It doesn’t matter to Alfa or me that she speaks very little English because we do too..hahaha. Her first day is tomorrow and we are all very excited to have her here. All the very best Mio!!

Apart from all the cleaning and re organising things, it has been a very busy week for repairs. For over a month, Taka has been working on and off on a very rare and old York Tenor Sax. When it first came in, it looked horrible and very tarnished. It needed a complete rebuild with all pads replaced and some new rods made as well as major dent work and soldering carried out. This job required much patience and skill. Taka has both and on Wednesday, the job was completed. Pictures of before and after can be seen on our Facebook page. Many other repairs too have been started and completed by Taka, Jordan and Daddy. Yes Jordan is starting to start and finish some brass repairs and on Friday started and completed a Flugelhorn Silver Service job. Well done Jordan!! Daddy too has been working hard and has worked on trumpets, clarinets and saxophones. Sorry Daddy…didn’t mean to leave you out

This week we received a shipment from Japan of a Yamaha soprano and alto sax. I think these two instruments are spoken for. Wow, things move fast at DR TOOT. Now so far I have only talked about Daddy and the boys, but Mummy too has been working very hard. You see….things don’t get done unless mummy contacts people and advises all what is coming and going.  Sales happen because mummy lists our lovely instruments and informs the masses. Mummy works the hardest I think and Daddy and the boys appreciate it πŸ˜ƒ

I haven’t seen Daddy much today, (Sunday) as he has been in rehearsals since 9.30am to 4.30pm with the Howick Brass Band for the regionals ABA Contest. Daddy works so hard on his tuba playing and is complaining that his lips are very sore. No kissing Zara tonight….lol.

Time to go and let Daddy rest and have a glass of well deserved wine. Be good everyone and I will catch you all soon 😸😺😸
